Good Morning and Happy Thursday!
I hope your week is going well and you're as excited for Halloween as I am!!! It's OBVIOUSLY my most favorite holiday and highly disagree with the fact that we don't get a day off of work for this occasion.....le sigh.
Todays card is the 2 of Swords (Upright) and the little "tagline" for this card in the Starman Tarot deck book is "I trust my ability to find my way". Do we, Universe? DO. WE???
This card is a card centered around choice, the being depicted in this card is literally split in two, there are powerful choices to be made right now for all of us. There was an Peruvian-American writer named Carlos Castaneda that passed on in 1998 who wrote about the teachings of a Mexican Shaman named Don Juan Matus (there are different debates on the genre of books, it is classified as non-fiction but, may believe that it is VERY real, take from it what you will) and it is quoted that when faced with two different paths the Shaman asked himself every time, "Does this path have a heart?" and that takes me back to my most favorite of Bible versus, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" Proverbs 4:23 (4 and 23 both also signify all three of my children's birthdays, my two youngest were both born in the 4th month of April and my oldest has a birthday on the 23rd day of his month, it's been my favorite verse since before my younger two were born, look for the signs, no such thing as coincidence in my opinion). I'm an emotional and passionate person so I always take the path of the heart, it usually ends up in a lesson, I'm not going to lie but, absolutely a necessary lesson for ME. For example, I was recently roped into some silly drama between two people I actually enjoy and I found myself picking a side and while I did what I thought was right in the moment, I did not think about "Does this path have a heart?", in doing what I thought at the time was right, I further ignited the flame and that serves NO ONE well. There was no positive outcome to be had of that, I ended up looking two faced to one and hurting the other persons feelings with the information I provided, still no solution and possibly a worse situation than where it started and that's on me now when I was neutral beforehand. And really, I suppose, ANY choice we make has a heart, which means we give that choice life, we should absolutely be considering what we give life to and will we be creating healthy and positive thoughts, actions and relationships or will we create our own monsters?
Everything in life is a great balancing act and I'm convinced that once we finally figure it all out, we die so don't go rushing to figure out the meaning of life or anything, lol! Seriously though, everything is centered around balance, the light and the dark, good and the bad, and there are both sides in all people and all thoughts and actions. The good news is WE are in charge of that. We are all conscious human beings (unless you're unconscious, in which case, how are you even reading this?! SORCERY!) and all have the ability to make choices, there are consequences and also benefits to those choices but, trust that whatever choice you end up making, that was the right one for you even if it sends you down the path of reflection and getting hit with difficult waves of life. Sometimes those choices ESPECIALLY we need to pay close attention to and appreciate. They push dramatic change but, even then you'll be at a tough crossroads, change or stay the same because that's comfortable or 'what you know'. Growth will be when you're faced with a similar challenge in the future and you say to yourself, "SELF, we've been down this road before, don't be a bonehead again this time!" instead of "Party on, Bonehead!"
So, if you're torn between choices right now, ask yourself which path has the biggest heart and go that way. Trust your own intuition and know that everything that life brings to you, light or dark, it was meant for you in that moment and you needed it BUT, if you can help it, don't end up being a part of the problem like I did. Looking back on things, if I had thought about it more instead of making quick decisions without thinking about it fully first, I would have clearly seen that that conversation served no purpose to any of us other than additional turmoil. When I say trust your intuition, I mean your true intuition, not what we mistake for intuition when we haven't even put a lick of thought into anything. That's trusting the human in you and I'll have you know, the original humans were NOT smart. It took centuries to be civilized, only to regress and end up being completely uncivilized in 2021 but, that's a topic for another time!
If you're in a spot where you have no idea where to turn or no idea what the best route to take would be, reach out to me and I'll do my best to help you weigh the pros and cons. No one can make the choices for us but, the universe/your spiritual team do put people and signs in your way when you need it, we just tend to brush those things off and do what we want to do anyway. When faced with a major choice, just take a bit of time to really reflect on the options. When we put in the hard work and trust ourselves, it always works out positively.
Life isn't easy, neither are the choices in this life so don't make it harder on yourself than it already is by making thoughtless or uninformed choices. If you're reading this you're here for a reason and I want you to know that your soul is rad and I'm proud of you.
Kick todays ass, friends! xo
Additional Fun Facts:
"The number 2 stands for valid testimony and truth. Its spiritual meaning is similar. It is a sign that you are on the path of discovering your own truth, or that your inclinations about your possible true path are correct. The spiritual meaning of 222 is similar to its singular form." - www.learning-mind.com/spiritual-meaning-of-222
"Swords are often double-edged and in this way the Suit of Swords symbolises the fine balance between intellect and power and how these two elements can be used for good or evil. As such, the Swords must be balanced by spirit (Wands) and feeling (Cups) to have the most positive effect. The Suit of Swords is associated with the element of Air." - www.biddytarot.com/tarot-card-meanings/minor-arcana/suit-of-swords/
